CHILDREN AT GORDON BAPTIST

Children are a vital part of our church community, and we involve them in our programs to provide loving, safe and fun environments in which children can grow and learn more about God.

We take great care to nurture and protect our children. All our leaders (paid and voluntary) involved in the children’s and youth programs hold current Working With Children's Checks with the NSW Government and have undertaken Child Protection and Creating Safe Spaces training provided through the National Council of Churches in Australia within the last three years.

Children are welcome in all our gatherings.  At our English Common Way gathering which starts at 10:00am, the first half an hour is deliberately intergenerational.  This includes ‘First Steps’ pitched at pre-schoolers, and interactive teaching and sharing accessible for older children.  Kids also take a lead in music and other upfront roles.

Children from all our congregations meet together on Sundays from 10:30am in Kids Life (for Primary aged children) and Toddler’s Life (for pre-schoolers).  Here they enjoy a fun program where they learn, connect and grow.  It is a joyful place of welcome for all!

YOUTH

We welcome Youth from our local community and church families to come just as they are, connecting with others and exploring life open to God’s good presence. During school term, our youth meet fortnightly on Friday nights 5:30-8:30pm at 20 Park Avenue, Gordon. Every Sunday they participate in and lead during our English Common Way gathering which starts at 10:00am. For youth from year 6 and up they can then join a youth specific program from 10:30am run by youth leaders to hang out and learn together. Youth are not the church of tomorrow if they are not the church of today.
